Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh Urgent Notice All the faculty members and students including research scholars are advised to note that 14 synchronous interactions in the form of ‘Global Class’ with the Faculty members and students with the Fayetteville State University (FSU), North Carolina (USA) will be conducted at 6:30 PM (IST) and 8:00 AM (US Eastern Standard Time) from January 2016 to April 2016. For the same, the students are advised to give their names to the undersigned for the selection for the presentations upto 17th January, 2016 as only 25 seats are available for the same. The title of the Global Class is “Global Role Models: Gandhi, King and Mandela”. Selected students will be paired with students from FSU to conduct research and present on specified topics related to the title of the joint venture. Understanding nonviolence and peace approaches 2. Challenges to peace/nonviolent approaches 3. The role of women in peace/philosophy of peace 4. Impact of non-peace (War) on woman 5. Efficacy of nonviolence for contemporary conflicts 6. The role of the youth in peace (could be local entities) 7. The physical, mental and spiritual effects of peace on the Peace Advocates 8. The influences on peace advocates 9. Examination of global peace movements (could be local entities) a. Chipko movement b. Occupy Wall Street c.
